Terms of Use

Last updated 16 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you — and, where you are acting for a business, that business — and White Sun (Malé, Republic of Maldives), for using WS Ledger. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you are confirming you have the authority to do so, and “you” below means that business as well as you personally.

What WS Ledger is

WS Ledger is double-entry accounting and tax-compliance software built for Maldivian businesses: bookkeeping, GST and TGST, Green Tax, payroll, inventory and reporting. It is a tool for keeping and producing your own records — it is not an accountant, a tax adviser, or a lawyer, and using it does not create an accounting, tax, or legal advisory relationship between you and White Sun. Tax rates and rules seeded into a new organisation are starting values; you are responsible for checking them against the current rulings from MIRA before you rely on them, and for the accuracy of everything your organisation enters.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter into this agreement.
  • The details you give us — your name, email, and your organisation’s — must be accurate, and kept that way.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account: keep your password to yourself, turn on two-factor sign-in or a passkey, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to your account.
  • An organisation’s owner decides who else may join it and what they can do, through the roles and permissions WS Ledger provides. We are not a party to, and do not arbitrate, disagreements between people inside the same organisation about who was authorised to do what.

Your data

Whatever your organisation enters into WS Ledger — its invoices, its customers, its employees’ records — belongs to your organisation, not to us. We process it to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you enter, for having the right to enter personal data about anyone else (an employee, a customer, a supplier) into the system, and for meeting your own obligations to them under applicable law.

Subscriptions and payment

  • New organisations start on a trial. After it, continuing to use the paid features needs an active subscription.
  • Payment is by bank transfer, recorded once it reaches our account; we do not take card payments through the product.
  • If a subscription lapses, WS Ledger does not lock you out or hold your data hostage: the account becomes read-only — you can see and export everything, but not add to or change it — until it is paid or you leave. What you have already recorded stays exactly as it was.
  • Fees are as shown at Settings → Billing at the time you subscribe or renew, and may change with reasonable notice before your next renewal.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use WS Ledger for anything unlawful, or to enter data you do not have the right to enter.
  • Try to break into, disrupt, or place unreasonable load on the service, or bypass a security control, rate limit, or plan limit.
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or use the software to build a competing product, except to the extent the law gives you that right regardless of this clause.
  • Share your sign-in credentials outside your organisation, or use the service to access another organisation’s data without authorisation.

We may suspend an account that we reasonably believe is doing one of these things, while we look into it, and will tell you why.

Ownership

WS Ledger — its software, design, and the WS Ledger and White Sun names and marks — belongs to White Sun. These terms give you the right to use it as intended; they do not transfer any ownership of it to you. Your organisation’s own data, as above, stays yours.

Ending it

You may stop using WS Ledger and close your account at any time from Settings, or by asking us. We may suspend or end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, for non-payment left unresolved well beyond the read-only grace period, or where the law requires it, and will give notice where we reasonably can. Sections that by their nature should survive ending the agreement — ownership, the limits on our liability, and anything about data we are legally required to keep — do.

No warranty

WS Ledger is provided “as is.” We work to keep it available, accurate, and secure, and White Sun stands behind that work — but we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and, to the extent the law allows, we make no other warranty, express or implied, including of fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes a warranty that Maldivian law does not allow us to exclude.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, White Sun’s liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us for WS Ledger in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (like lost profits) arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit — for example, liability for our own fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Maldives, and any dispute that cannot be resolved between us falls to the courts of the Maldives.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as WS Ledger changes. For a change that matters, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect; the date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Continuing to use WS Ledger after a change takes effect means you accept it.
